	Drama Examinations

At Paphos Youth Theatre, students are encouraged to take LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) Exams and the GCSE in Drama.

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art is one of the oldest drama schools in the UK and is a centre of excellence in performance training. It is also the largest Speech and Drama Awarding Body in the United Kingdom.

LAMDA Examinations are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in the UK. Level 3 Examinations (Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals) will also help students enter UK universities.

Students at Paphos Youth Theatre have the opportunity to take the following LAMDA exams:

Acting
Designed to develop skills necessary to communicate dramatic text to an audience.

Devised Performance
Designed to develop skills necessary to devise a dramatic performance and present it to an audience.

Speaking Of Verse & Prose
Designed to develop skills for effective oral communication.

Mime
Designed to develop skills to create a performance using non-verbal techniques,

Musical Theatre
Designed to develop the skills necessary to communicate the dramatic content of musical text over a range of musical styles/categories.

Public Speaking
Designed to develop skills for effective oral communication and public presentation.
