GCSE in Drama

Paphos Youth Theatre is able to offer the GCSE in drama because it is largely a practical course. 60% of the work is coursework based on practical exercises while 40% is performance orientated. Some written work is required but there is no formal written examination.

GCSE in Drama is a two year course but we hope to complete the course in less.  However, all parents should allow for a two year time frame.

We are offering the course at present to students in year 8 / age 12 onwards.

In order to successfully complete the GCSE in Drama, students must be prepared to undertake 3 hrs of drama lessons per week.

The cost of the GCSE course is €160 per month (full fee list here). In addition there are two 6 hour assessed workshops during the course. The price of each workshop is €60. In the workshops students will be assessed by an external assessor. Each student’s portfolio will also be compiled, assessed and moderated. Students will be required to purchase any text books needed for the course.
